Switch It Up

So I cut my hair off.  I am so proud of myself and excited to see what fun new thing I think of next.  I went to Huetiful on the South Side and got a cut similar to one that I'd always been interested in and found the perfect style via Pinterest.

It's going to be so much fun learning to style and manipulate my hair.  I'll be documenting every day on my Tumblr page and  post cool information that I learn on here, too.

The most interesting part is that it seems so right!  One of my best friends told me to do it when we first met and even before that, I'd always been curious.

The Deva Cut is a haircut for women with textured hair where they shape and cut your hair in its naturally curly state versus once it's straight which is more common at hair salons.  I'd suggest getting a consultation, taking in multiple photos of the style you want and booking after that.

good luck!

Latest & Greatest

I am not a podcast person but I am an information person.  I decided to revisit the podcastshphere because I felt like my music routine was getting dusty and i needed vibes for when I'm at work or driving around the city.  I randomly decided to check out Sophia Amoruso's  #girlboss radio because I've only heard consistent comments about how dope it is.

Sophia kicks every episode off with her quirky comedian friend and says really crazy regular things, drops some ads, and then starts the interview with a question about her Girlboss guest's first job.

I like it because I'm almost 30.  that's really it.  Sophia's approach to interviewing is how myself and my girlfriends hang around and talk.  Between offering tips to one another, when we get together to celebrate or reconnect, it's like a little interviewing session and we just drop and pick up gems for hours at a time.  I don't get the sensation that I'm listening to a woman who wants to be appealing to a hip crowd.  There's a self-awareness that reads clearly through her questions and connection to the women who come on with more or less experience than her.  Anybody with a nose van appreciate her humbleness and regard for her comrades.

I don't know much about Sophia.  I've never shopped Nasty Gal and I haven't read her book.  What you'll appreciate most is how she's so normal and curious.  It's almost like she preps her guests with a singular option: "leave my listeners elevated and inspired, or don't show."

I check the recordings out with my Spotify Premium account.  Enjoy!

Fall 2016 Moodboard

Every season I create a new moodboard as inspiration for the months within it.

Autumn is a season of harvesting.  All Summer I've been accumulating new pieces for my closest, building endurance for my workouts, planning travel, and learning how to seize moments at every level.  I also have a real love for deep zinfandel colors and beauty elixirs alike.  I'm exited to update the routine once the weather officially cools.  As it goes, now will be the time to bring all of this work to fruition.  Here goes nothing!

Here's to Fall!
